Social Tango Project’s mission is to share the social value of dance through live performances as well as through music, photography, and film. The company seeks to share its artistry, cultivate inclusivity, and create meaningful experiences that resonate far beyond the stage.
¨Social Tango, a dance journey¨ blends dance, live music, and cinematic projections to reveal how tango builds a community that celebrates the power of human connection.
This collective spirit is authentically reflected on stage through the collaboration that choreographer and artistic director Agustina Videla develops with each local tango community where the company performs. After every show, the experience continues with an on-stage class and milonga, breaking down barriers between audience and performers and inviting people of all levels to join in the dance.

Performance: 60 minutes
After-show class: 10 minutes
Milonga: 30 minutes
*The work can be presented in proscenium theaters or in unconventional spaces.
On Tour
In Argentina, the company has performed at major official venues such as Teatro San Martín, CCK, Centro Cultural 25 de Mayo, and Teatro de la Ribera.
The international premiere was at the Kennedy Center in April 2023. Since then the company has been invited to perform at some of the most prestigious festivals and venues across the United States and Canada, including Fall for Dance (New York City Center), Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and Place des Arts (CINARS 2024).
The next US tour is planned for February 2027.

Residency
Each program is curated by artistic director Agustina Videla in collaboration with the host institution and may include masterclasses, screenings of the short film Being and the feature film The tango, those minutes of rematch, as well as Milongueros, a photo exhibition by renowned Argentine photographer Nora Lezano.
