Social Tango Project believes in the social power of dance. Through live performances, music, and films, the company presents tango as what it has always been: an art of encounter, open to everyone
The production ¨Social Tango, a dance journey¨, blends dance, live music, and cinematic projections to reveal how tango builds a community that celebrates the power of human connection.
This collective spirit is authentically reflected on stage through 10 professional dancers, 5 musicians and the collaboration with each local tango community where the company performs.
After every show, the experience continues with an on-stage class and milonga, breaking down barriers between audience and performers and inviting people of all levels to join in the dance.

From Buenos Aires to the great stages of North America, Social Tango Project has established itself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary tango.
In Argentina, the company has performed at the country’s foremost cultural institutions, including the Teatro San Martín, the Centro Cultural Kirchner, the Centro Cultural 25 de Mayo and the Teatro de la Ribera. Its international debut at the Kennedy Center opened the way to some of the most respected platforms for dance in the United States and Canada, among them Fall for Dance at New York City Center, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and Place des Arts in Montreal.
With a new U.S. tour ahead and a new work in development, the company continues to carry tango’s spirit of connection to new audiences and communities.

Residency
Social Tango Project’s residencies extend the performance into the life of the host community. Each residency is designed by artistic director Agustina Videla together with the host institution, adapted to its audiences, its spaces and its local tango scene. A residency can bring together:
Creation with the local community. In rehearsals leading up to the performance, dancers from the local tango community work alongside the company and take part in the show.
Masterclasses
Classes for all levels, from first-time dancers to professionals.
Film
Screenings of the short film Being and the company feature documentary, followed by a conversation with the directors.
Photography
Milongueros, an exhibition by renowned Argentine photographer Nora Lezano, portraits of the dancers who keep tango’s social tradition alive.
Since its founding, the company has cultivated inclusive spaces and created meaningful experiences that resonate far beyond the stage.
