Social Tango Project is a dance company founded in 2012 by Ramón de Oliveira César and Agustina Videla.
Its first production, Social Tango, blends dance, live music, and cinematic projections to tell the story of women who discover tango and choose to embark on the journey of learning to dance—a celebration of the power of human connection.
This collective spirit comes to life on stage through a cast of ten dancers, five musicians, and the meaningful participation of local tango communities in every city where the company performs. This involvement is made possible through the collaborative process led by artistic director and choreographer Agustina Videla, who works closely with local tango schools and teachers.
The experience extends beyond the performance: audiences are invited to an on-stage class and a milonga, welcoming everyone into the dance community.
Duration
Performance: 60 minutes
After-show class: 10 minutes
Milonga: 30 minutes
*The work can be presented in proscenium theaters or in unconventional spaces.
